Defected Records presents James Talk and Ridney - Forever

Obviously a hit down in Miami. Forever is going to be hanging around in the House world for a while. This is a great look into the past to see where all this music really evolved from. I hope house doesn't go the way of Disco anytime soon though and keeps moving forward into the mainstream ears.

The Boy Illinois "No Good For You" (Prod. Victor Radz)

So this is a change of pace over here at the Victor Radz Blog. A lot of you might not know but I actually started out producing Hip Hop/R&B/Rap back in the early days. Since then I have evolved into the EDM producer I am today. I still make a lot of hip hop and R&B and still work with a lot of artists in Boston like the Famous Nobodies. I love Hip Hop, real hip hop and I am sure that the two genres of House and Hip Hop will cross over here in the states very soon. Keep your eyes and ears open because it's happening as we speak.

The Boy Illinois (based out of Chicago) is an artist I met through my friend Noah Christofer (Beyond Measure Productions). He got on the "Official Broke Mixtape" that I produced last fall and absolutely killed it. His style and sound are something that can't be ignored. He brings hope to the fans of hip hop and keeps me inspired to make more songs for him to give life too.

Check out his Youtube Channel and Enjoy the Sound!

THE BOY ILLINOIS

I love the future.

Weekend Tutorial : Ralph Lawson demonstrates his tips and tricks on the Xone:4D

The Xone 4D is a serious piece of equipment that is revolutionizing the DJ world as we speak when teamed up and mapped with Ableton live. A lot of DJ's are taking the jump and moving towards "live mixing". Take a look and listen at what Ralph Lawson has to say and how he maps his Xone 4D. There is no right or wrong way to DJ a session with Ableton, unless you sound terrible. If that's the case, keep practicing.

Dirty South Pacha Web Interview

This interview is from last fall and gives you some good insight on a amazing producer and DJ. I was in the crowd when Dirty South performed last year and he was right to get off stage and be speechless. His set was fn banger. He got the crowds energy up so much that I thought the tent was going to implode at one point. The best part about it was that he was warming up the crowd for Swedish House Mafia. When the swede team hit the decks everyone was already out of control that all they needed to do was hit play and stand back. Dirty South is the shit. Buy his music

East & Young - Reveal (Extended Mix)

Love the original, Love the vocal remix, love the extended version. Get your butts to beatport or where ever you go and buy this song. Awesome chord progressions and builds. Keep this one tucked away in your HD for when you need a song to get the energy moving forward in your set.

Yolanda Be Cool & DCUP - We No Speak Americano

This track is great. Awesome sample work. I love the groove of this song. Play this one early in the night to get people in the right state of mind.

Mark Knight vs. Funkagenda - Antidote (Radio Rip)

Mark Knight and his team over at ToolRoom are making some serious progressive and tech house that can't be ignored. This track is moving and can really bring your set together if placed right.

Loving that driving bassline and the big high end builds. Go buy this one when it is out and support Mark Knight and his brilliant team of Producers and DJ's

Dirty South playin David Tort & Norman Doray - The sun at Ultra Music Festival 2010

I became a huge fan of Dirty South last year at Ultra when he was on right before Swedish House Mafia. His set was incredible and he pretty much gave the crowd to SHM on a silver platter. He should have said, "You're Welcome, I just gave you guys a lay up".

Massive track with a massive music appreciative crowd. Kudos D South keep it rockin

Imogen Heap - Hide and Seek (Otto Knows remix)

There are a lot of Imogen Heap - Hide and Seek Remixes out there. All good in their rightful genre. This remix by Otto Knows is awesome. Hands down one of my favorites. I guarantee people will go crazy if they hear this. Obviously you have to get the energy right to get the full feel of this track. But if you are a good DJ you shouldn't have a problem with that at all. Great Work on this one. Go Buy it when it is released or where ever you can find it.

So over at the Victor Radz Blog I will be interviewing DJ's and Producers from around the world. The first Producer/DJ that I was able to speak with was Max Vangeli. Since WMC we have seen a couple new producers jumping into the spotlight from the Size Records team. Max Vangeli is one of those producers putting his foot down and showing the world his sound. This remix is one my favorites so far. Great work. Buy this track where you can and show some support. Bananas!

DJ A-Trak Interview

A Conversation with A-Trak from EIKNARF on Vimeo.

DJ A-Trak, if you don't know him, is a DJing Prodigy. I used to watch VHS Tapes of this kid destroying sets at the DMC World Championships back when I used to scratch records all day. Oh yeah he was winning those competitions at the age of 15. In the digital age he is now a very accomplished DJ and Producer. Take a look and listen at what he has to say about EDM today, where it is going. Seems like a real humble dude and I like how he appreciates how lucky he is to be rockin shows with crowds that appreciate music.

Cicada - One Beat Away (Max Vangeli Remix)

Max Vangeli, all I can say is sit back and watch his career take off in 2010. I don't think there is really anyone out there that is competing with the team that Steve Angello put together over at Size Records. This track is another big room bomb. The formula is now set in stone for these guys and they are going to keep pushing out bangers like this one.

Great vocals for all the chickies to sing too while giving the big room sound for all us guys to spaz out to when the builds drop. Good melody and great work with sidechaining the noise. Kudos Max, keep them coming.

Go buy this song when it is released on APRIL 12th 2010.

Pachaweb Interview on Bob Sinclar

I am still loving what these guys are doing over at Pacha.com. Another interview of a great producer/dj. Bob Sinclair has seen huge success and will be seeing a lot more of it. Out of all the interviews I have watched it seems that Bob is one of the more grounded producers. A truly passionate man and great producer. Kudos Bob.

Cheers

Ben Macklin, Arno Cost & Norman Doray Paradisco Vocal Mix

Norman Doray and Arno Cost are fuckin maniacs. They are the kings of French Disco House. This stuff is crazy, and forces you to dance. No lie, put this on where ever and people will dance. No questions asked, buy this song and bless the dance floors.

Mescal Kid - (aka Steve Angello) - Do You Want It (Original Mix)

Putting up an older Mescal Kid track from last year. The groove is great on this one though. This is an early set smash. Def will get people dancing and in the right state of mind to start dropping some serious bombs on the crowd.

Thursday, April 1, 2010

Leventina & Chris Reece - Esperando (Original Mix)

Pretty chill progressive track that you should drop in your set this summer. Good to keep the energy moving forward and keeping the feet on the floor.

Don't know if this is released or not, but check it out and buy it.
